Major Oster French Door-Style Countertop Toaster Ovens Recall Issued Over Burn Hazard

Sunbeam Products recalls over a million units sold at Walmart, Costco, and Amazon after reports of second-degree burns from unexpectedly closing doors.

A massive recall has been announced for a popular kitchen appliance, impacting more than a million households.

Sunbeam Products is recalling 1.29 million of its Oster French door-style countertop toaster ovens due to a serious burn hazard.

The issue stems from the spring-loaded doors, which can snap shut without warning while in use.

This dangerous defect has already led to 95 reports of users being burned.

Tragically, two of these incidents resulted in second-degree burns.

The Oster French door-style countertop toaster ovens recall affects several models sold over the past decade.

Consumers are urged to check their appliances for the following model numbers: TSSTTVFDXL, TSSTTVFDDG, TSSTTVFDMAF, and TSSTTVFDDAF.

You can find the model number on a label located on the back of the oven.

These ovens were widely available at major retailers, including Bed Bath and Beyond, Costco, and Walmart, as well as online through Amazon.com and Overstock.com.

They were sold between August 2015 and July 2025, with prices ranging from $140 to $250.

Officials are advising consumers to immediately stop using the recalled countertop ovens.

Sunbeam Products is offering a free repair kit to all affected customers.

The kit includes a simple clip-on device designed to keep the doors securely open, preventing them from closing unexpectedly.

Installation of the safety device requires no tools.

Customers can reach Sunbeam at 800-334-0759, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET, or visit recall.oster.com for details. The recall number is 25-475
