Duarte Route 66 Parade Returns to Huntington Drive This Weekend |
The 'City of Champions' celebration on Saturday, September 27, will be followed by a massive City Picnic at Encanto Park with live music, food, and a classic car show. |
Get ready, Duarte, because a beloved tradition is roaring back to life this weekend.
The annual Duarte Route 66 Parade is set to take over Huntington Drive this Saturday, September 27.
This year’s theme is “City of Champions,” honoring the local athletes, leaders, and residents who embody Duarte's spirit of excellence and perseverance.
It's a celebration of community pride that you won't want to miss.
The parade kicks off sharply at 10 a.m., traveling eastbound along the historic Route 66 corridor.
The route begins at Cotter Avenue and will conclude at Bradbourne Avenue, so residents should plan for local road closures during the event.
But the fun doesn't stop when the parade ends.
Following the procession, the celebration moves to Encanto Park for the annual Duarte City Picnic from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This marks the perfect pairing of two cherished city events in one incredible day.
Attendees can enjoy live music from the popular local group, The Company Band.
A classic car show will also return, featuring stunning hot rods, lowriders, and custom vehicles for auto enthusiasts.
There will be plenty of family-friendly attractions, boutique vendors, and delicious food available for purchase.
For adults, a dedicated on-site beer garden will be available for those 21 and over.
Local officials described the joint event as an especially meaningful celebration of the city's heritage and the champions who make Duarte a special place to live.
